Livestock Projects

One of the SAE opportunities Lincoln FFA members have is to raise and show animals at the fair. Lincoln FFA has members show at both fairs; Placer County Fair in June in Rocklin, and Gold Country Fair in September in Auburn. Students pick which fair they want to show at, some students do both! Livestock projects can range from several options, including different species or showing market animals vs breeding animals.

Market Livestock Projects are those that culminate with a student selling their animal at the fair's Junior Livestock Auction, and that animal going to be processed.

Breeding Livestock Projects are those that are focused on the production of offspring, which can be sold or further bred. Breeding projects do not always go to fair, some students opt to have a breeding project at home, and take another market animal to the fair.
