Floral 1 - 9th / 10th / 11th / 12th
This course is designed to allow students to apply an artistic approach to floral design. Students will explore elements and principles of design, two or three dimensional designs, history of floral art, arrangements, styles and techniques, season, holiday and occasional designs. Students will achieve this through creating, designing, identifying, explaining and evaluating all topics of study.
Intermediate Floral - 10th / 11th / 12th
This course builds on the Floral Design course with increased focus on the art of design, handling of cut flowers and the mechanics of Floral Design while including the selection of quality flowers and greens, budgeting, retail pricing and presentation.
Advanced Floral - 11th / 12th
This course builds on the intermediate course with the addition of marketing, sales, economics, cash flow and management of the retail and wholesale floral business. This will include how to prepare a bid for floral products and services for events.
Floral Internship - 11th / 12th
Students who have completed the Floral design pathway are eligible to become an intern, locally at the school farm or at a local business. Internships provide a real opportunity to showcase and use skills learned in the classroom in a real-world environment. These experiences are based on student interest and availability.
