Introduction to Agriculture - 9th

This class is taught at the high school farm and is a logical starting point for students interested in the pathways within the agriculture program. Students will be introduced to the importance of sustainable agriculture through plant and animal science topics as well as agriculture and natural resources. In addition, students will begin exploring agricultural welding and mechanics. Topics will also include units on FFA, record keeping and careers within agriculture.

Intermediate Animal Science - 10th

The Animal Science class will be a new course offering starting in the 2022 - 2023 school year. This class will be taught in conjunction with the Ag Chemistry class at the high school farm. It will help students develop a better understanding of the animal agriculture industry by building a foundational knowledge of animal husbandry, behavior, management practices, anatomy and physiology, and more. This new course is the concentrator for the new Animal Science pathway. Students who complete this course may be eligible for the next course planned in the pathway, Veterinary Science, which is planning to begin in the 2023 - 2024 school year.

Veterinary Science (H) - 11th / 12th

Veterinary Science is designed to provide students with an opportunity to study the science of veterinary medicine, including animal anatomy and physiology, animal health, nutrition, cause/prevention of disease, and clinical diagnosis of disease and parasites. Students will learn various veterinary laboratory skills, aseptic and surgical procedures, administration of medications and scientific research and writing skills. Each unit will include at least one clinical practice component to put the knowledge learned into a real veterinary clinical situation. Supervised agricultural experience projects and FFA leadership activities are integral components of the course and provide many opportunities for practical application of instructional competencies.

Veterinary Internship - 12th

Students who have completed an agriculture pathway are eligible to become an Agriculture Intern. These experiences are based on student interest and availability at the high school farm
