The Covid-19 pandemic has created a lot of struggles for our chapter and program. The FFA is built on being able to provide students learning in the 3 circles of agriculture education; Hands on Classroom/Lab Instruction, SAE Experiential Learning, and FFA Leadership Opportunities. With the limits and restrictions the pandemic placed on our society, many of these opportunities for students have been limited. Thankfully though, this year we have come back swinging! Lincoln FFA members have participated in every Leadership Conference this year, as well as have competed in more than 11 competitive field days across the State of California, and so much more!
All that being said, we are in the process of creating new and exciting ways to connect our chapter and community, as well as increase our ability to send students to these types of activities. So this year, we are creating a new event, the Commitment to Corduroy Benefit dinner, in conjunction with the Lincoln FFA Alumni Chapter, and the Tahoe Cattlemen's Association. This benefit dinner is meant to provide the our community and supporters an exciting night of fun to help raise money for our FFA Program. Join us at the McBean Pavilion on June 3rd for our benefit dinner! Ticket sales will go live soon (stay tuned!) and your purchase of a ticket includes a catered dinner, and access to our raffle, auction, and no-host bar put on by the TCA. VIP Tables that serve 8 are also available, and will include some additional goodies, to be announced soon! We are also seeking donations for our raffle prizes and auction. If you would like more information on the event, or would like to donate something for the event, please contact our FFA Advisor Mr. Willhite ([email protected]) or our Ag Department Chair Mrs. Armistead ([email protected]) We look forward to celebrating a year of FFA fun and success with you on June 3rd! Hope to see you there! Check out this month's newsletter! Each month our students write updates for our newsletter about the happenings at Lincoln FFA.
